How Lambda Photo treats iPhone HDR
Lambda Photo is a professional color-grading editor for iPhone and iPad. HDR is part of the grade, not a filter you turn on at the end.
What is iPhone HDR in this context?
Many Camera photos are HEIC files with an SDR display plate and an HDR gain map. Photos can show extra highlight on HDR displays. A naive editor that only sees the 8-bit picture will crush those highlights when you lift exposure.
What Lambda Photo does
Exposure is photometric: it tracks real light instead of a film-style shoulder unless you choose a film look. The HDR control stays live while you scrub. Export can write a gain-map HEIC — HDR on capable displays, SDR everywhere else.
Does this leave the device?
